Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Rehabilitation Nurse to join our interdisciplinary team in Timmins. This is a unique opportunity for qualified nurses, including those requiring sponsorship, to contribute to the recovery and well-being of our patients. As a Rehabilitation Nurse, you will play a crucial role in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for patients with chronic illnesses, injuries, or disabilities, helping them achieve their highest level of independence and quality of life. You will work collaboratively with physicians, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to develop and execute personalized rehabilitation plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional status to identify rehabilitation needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
- Provide direct nursing care, including medication administration, wound care, and management of medical equipment.
- Educate patients and their families on rehabilitation goals, self-care techniques, and disease management.
- Monitor patient progress, document observations, and adjust care plans as necessary.
- Promote a therapeutic environment that supports patient recovery and independence.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient care conferences.
- Ensure compliance with all professional standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) or eligibility for licensure in Ontario, Canada (support for sponsorship provided).
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Demonstrated empathy and patience in working with patients and their families.
- Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in documentation and electronic health records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Certification in Rehabilitation Nursing (CRRN).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a rehabilitation, medical-surgical, or long-term care setting.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations.
