Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Information Security Manager to join our dynamic team in Stockport. This critical role involves overseeing and enhancing our information security posture, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and protecting our vital assets from evolving cyber threats. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing robust security strategies, managing security incidents, and fostering a security-aware culture across the organisation. This position offers Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) for eligible candidates, demonstrating our commitment to attracting top global talent to our UK operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive information security policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST CSF).
  • Lead and manage the response to security incidents, including investigation, containment, eradication, recovery, and post-incident analysis.
  • Conduct regular security risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential threats to information systems and data.
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with relevant data protection laws (e.g., GDPR) and financial industry regulations.
  • Manage security awareness programs and training initiatives to educate employees on security best practices and policies.
  • Oversee the implementation and operation of security controls, technologies, and tools.
  • Collaborate with IT operations, legal, and business units to integrate security requirements into new projects and existing systems.
  • Prepare and present security reports to senior management, outlining security posture, risks, and incident trends.
  • Mentor and guide junior security analysts and team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in information security management, ideally within a large enterprise environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of information security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, and COBIT.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles and methodologies.
  • Demonstrable experience with incident response and management.
  • Familiarity with network security, application security, and cloud security concepts.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Experience working in the financial services industry.
  • Knowledge of UK and EU data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR).
  • Experience with security auditing and compliance.
  • Familiarity with security automation and orchestration tools.
