Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Zero-G Parabolic Flight Operations Intern to join our dedicated team. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the exciting field of parabolic flight operations, contributing directly to research on microgravity effects. The intern will receive comprehensive training and work closely with experienced engineers and scientists on various aspects of flight preparation, execution, and data collection. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about aerospace and eager to learn about the operational intricacies of simulating zero-gravity conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and post-flight procedures for parabolic flight campaigns.
- Support the operational team in setting up and monitoring experimental payloads.
- Document flight parameters, data collection, and operational logs.
- Contribute to safety briefings and debriefings for flight personnel and researchers.
- Learn about aircraft systems pertinent to parabolic flight profiles.
- Assist in basic maintenance checks and equipment inventory.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to operational improvements.
- Support ground control operations during flights, as required.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Aeronautics, or related STEM degree program.
- Strong interest in aviation, space exploration, or microgravity research.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Proficiency in basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of fluid dynamics or orbital mechanics concepts.
- Experience with data logging or analysis software (e.g., MATLAB, Python) is a plus.
