Job Description
Cleanaway is seeking reliable and physically fit individuals to join our team as Waste Truck Offsiders for an ongoing council contract based out of Wetherill Park. This is a full-time position offering stable work and the opportunity to be part of a vital service to the community. As an Offsider, you will play a crucial role in the efficient collection of waste, working alongside an experienced driver. While prior experience is a bonus, it is not essential as full training will be provided to dedicated candidates. We are looking for individuals who are committed, safety-conscious, and ready to contribute to a positive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the truck driver with the safe and efficient collection of waste from residential and commercial properties.
- Operate lifting mechanisms to empty bins into the truck.
- Guide the truck driver in congested areas and when reversing.
- Ensure all collected waste is securely contained within the vehicle.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety procedures and road regulations.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment around the truck and collection areas.
- Report any hazards, incidents, or equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Interact professionally with residents and the public as a representative of Cleanaway.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks repeatedly.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and following procedures.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Basic communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Australian Driver's Licence (any class).
- Previous experience in waste management or similar outdoor manual labour roles.
- White Card (Construction Induction).
