Job Description

Are you passionate about animals and looking to start your career in veterinary nursing? Desert Pet Clinic in Alice Springs is offering an exciting Veterinary Nurse Intern position. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for individuals with little to no prior experience, providing comprehensive training and hands-on exposure to a bustling small animal clinic environment. You will work alongside experienced professionals, learning essential skills and contributing to the daily operations of our clinic. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary nurses during examinations, procedures, and surgeries.
  • Learn proper animal handling and restraint techniques.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the clinic, including examination rooms, kennels, and surgical areas.
  • Prepare examination rooms and surgical suites.
  • Sterilize instruments and equipment.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients under direct supervision.
  • Assist with laboratory procedures and diagnostic imaging.
  • Provide compassionate care and comfort to all animal patients.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing patient records.
