Job Description
We are seeking a talented and passionate Urban Designer / Masterplanner to join our dynamic team in Kennewick, WA. This role is crucial for developing and implementing visionary urban design and master planning projects across the Pacific Northwest. You will be instrumental in shaping communities, creating vibrant public spaces, and contributing to sustainable development initiatives from concept through implementation. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the development of urban design and master planning concepts from initial visioning through detailed design.
- Prepare high-quality graphic presentations, reports, and design documents for internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct site analysis, research, and data gathering to inform design decisions.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, including architects, landscape architects, engineers, and planners.
- Present design proposals and concepts to clients, public agencies, and community groups.
- Contribute to project management tasks, including scope development, scheduling, and budget monitoring.
- Participate in public engagement and community outreach processes.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or City Planning.
- 3+ years of professional experience in urban design or master planning.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), SketchUp, and/or Rhino.
- Strong graphic communication and visualization skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Urban Design or a related field.
- Professional licensure (e.g., AICP, ASLA, AIA).
- Experience with GIS software.
- Familiarity with local planning regulations and development processes in Washington State.
- Portfolio demonstrating diverse project experience in urban design and master planning.
