Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and driven Urban Designer Intern to join our Architecture & Planning team in Gladstone, QLD. This entry-level internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of urban design, architecture, and planning. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with research and data collection for urban design and planning projects
  • Prepare presentation materials, including maps, diagrams, and reports
  • Contribute to the development of design concepts and strategies under supervision
  • Utilize design software (CAD, Adobe Creative Suite) to create visual representations
  • Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project reviews
  • Assist with site analysis and documentation as required
  • Support the preparation of planning applications and design guidelines
  • Undertake general administrative duties related to project work

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Planning, or a related field
  • Basic proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
  • Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Enthusiasm for urban design, planning, and community development
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Eagerness to learn and take initiative

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS)
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software (e.g., SketchUp, Rhino)
  • A portfolio demonstrating academic projects or personal design work
  • Basic understanding of local planning policies and regulations
