Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and driven Urban Designer Intern to join our Architecture & Planning team in Gladstone, QLD. This entry-level internship offers an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of urban design, architecture, and planning. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with research and data collection for urban design and planning projects
- Prepare presentation materials, including maps, diagrams, and reports
- Contribute to the development of design concepts and strategies under supervision
- Utilize design software (CAD, Adobe Creative Suite) to create visual representations
- Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project reviews
- Assist with site analysis and documentation as required
- Support the preparation of planning applications and design guidelines
- Undertake general administrative duties related to project work
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Planning, or a related field
- Basic proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software
- Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Enthusiasm for urban design, planning, and community development
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Eagerness to learn and take initiative
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS)
- Familiarity with 3D modeling software (e.g., SketchUp, Rhino)
- A portfolio demonstrating academic projects or personal design work
- Basic understanding of local planning policies and regulations
