Job Description

Vinnies QLD is offering an exciting opportunity for an Unpaid Intern to join our team in Springwood, providing essential administrative support. This internship is perfect for individuals looking to kickstart their career in the non-profit sector, develop practical office skills, and contribute to meaningful community initiatives. You will work alongside dedicated professionals, learning the day-to-day operations of a busy non-profit office, and directly supporting our mission to help those in need. This is a hands-on learning experience where your enthusiasm and willingness to learn are more important than prior experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with general office administration tasks, including filing, data entry, and document management.
- Provide support for internal and external communications, including drafting emails and preparing correspondence.
- Assist with scheduling appointments and managing calendars for team members.
- Help organise and prepare for meetings, including minute-taking and material compilation.
- Support event planning and coordination for community outreach and fundraising initiatives.
- Handle incoming calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate departments.
- Maintain office supplies inventory and assist with ordering when necessary.
- Undertake special projects as assigned, contributing to various departmental goals.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Demonstrated interest in community service and the non-profit sector.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant vocational program or university degree (e.g., Business Administration, Social Sciences, Non-profit Management).
- Previous volunteer experience.
- Basic understanding of administrative procedures.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new tasks and challenges.
