Job Description
Are you looking for an active role in a fast-paced environment? Woolworths Gungahlin is seeking dedicated and reliable individuals to join our Trolley Collection Crew. This part-time position is crucial to ensuring our customers have a seamless shopping experience by providing easy access to trolleys and maintaining a tidy car park. If you enjoy working outdoors, staying active, and contributing to a positive community atmosphere, we encourage you to apply! No prior experience is required, as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Systematically collect shopping trolleys from car parks, trolley bays, and surrounding areas.
- Safely return trolleys to designated store entrances and bays, ensuring they are readily available for customers.
- Maintain clear and safe access paths for customers, pedestrians, and vehicles by promptly clearing obstacles.
- Perform routine visual checks of trolley conditions and report any damaged trolleys to management.
- Be proactive in identifying and reporting any potential hazards or unsafe conditions in the car park or store surrounds.
- Offer friendly assistance to customers with general queries or directions when approached.
- Adhere to all store safety procedures and guidelines, particularly concerning working outdoors and in car park environments.
Required Skills
- A strong level of physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, push, and pull trolleys for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Proven reliability and punctuality, understanding the importance of consistent presence.
- A positive attitude and a strong work ethic, with the initiative to get tasks done efficiently.
- The ability to work effectively and safely, both independently and as part of a supportive team.
- Basic communication skills to interact courteously with customers and team members.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean and organised shopping environment.
- No specific prior experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a role requiring physical activity or outdoor work is beneficial but not essential.
- An understanding of basic Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures.
