Job Description
Are you looking to kick-start a new career with full training and support? Orkin Canada is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Trainee Pest Control Technicians in the Collingwood area. No prior experience in pest control is required, as we provide a comprehensive, paid training program to equip you with all the skills and certifications needed to become a licensed professional. You’ll also be provided with a company vehicle from day one to service your route. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on individual who enjoys problem-solving and working independently in the field, delivering essential services to our valued customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete an intensive, paid training program to learn all aspects of pest control.
- Operate a company vehicle safely and efficiently to travel to customer locations.
- Conduct thorough inspections of customer properties to identify pest issues, entry points, and contributing factors.
- Implement effective pest control treatments and solutions according to company standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Provide excellent customer service, clearly communicating findings, treatment plans, and preventative measures.
- Complete necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain service equipment and vehicle in good working order.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Required Skills
- No prior pest control experience required – full training provided!
- Valid G-Class Ontario Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and manage a daily route efficiently.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable working with chemicals and various equipment.
- Physical ability to perform job duties including lifting, climbing, bending, and working in various weather conditions.
- A keen interest in learning and problem-solving.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
- Basic knowledge of local geography for the Collingwood and surrounding areas.
- Previous experience in a hands-on, field-based, or technical role.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces or at heights (with proper safety training).
