Job Description

Border Compliance Services Group is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as Trainee Customs Revenue Collectors in Rimouski, Quebec. No prior experience is required; we provide comprehensive, paid training to equip you with all the necessary skills and knowledge. Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in a structured, comprehensive training program covering customs procedures, revenue collection, and regulatory compliance.
  • Learn to accurately assess and collect duties, taxes, and fees on imported goods and travelers.
  • Assist in the examination of declarations, manifests, and other documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop skills to identify potential non-compliance, smuggling, or prohibited goods under supervision.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with importers, brokers, travelers, and other government agencies.
  • Maintain meticulous records and assist with administrative tasks related to customs operations.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and operational guidelines at port and border locations.
  • Support senior officers in enforcing import/export regulations and related legislation.

Required Skills

  • No prior experience required – full training provided.
  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (French proficiency an asset for Quebec locations).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check and security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., law enforcement, public administration, business).
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency with standard office software.
  • Valid driver's license (Class 5 or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
  • Experience in customer service or roles requiring public interaction.
