Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tool & Die Maker to join our dynamic team in Little Rock, Arkansas. This is a unique opportunity for a dedicated professional looking for long-term career growth with LMIA / Visa Sponsorship available for qualified international candidates. As a Tool & Die Maker, you will be instrumental in the fabrication, maintenance, and repair of precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures essential for our advanced manufacturing processes. Your expertise will ensure the continuous operation and efficiency of our production lines, contributing directly to the quality and performance of our wind turbine blades. This is an on-site, full-time position.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, and assemble complex tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures from blueprints, sketches, or CAD models.
- Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of existing production tooling to minimize downtime.
- Operate a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC equipment.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and ensure adherence to tight tolerances.
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize tooling designs for manufacturability and efficiency.
- Conduct root cause analysis for tooling failures and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist in the training and mentorship of apprentices or less experienced colleagues.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Tool & Die Maker in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting complex blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of various metals, their properties, and machining techniques.
- Expertise in operating manual and CNC machine tools.
- Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
- Solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of a recognized Tool & Die Maker apprenticeship program.
- Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam).
- Prior experience in the renewable energy, aerospace, or automotive industries.
- Experience with composite material tooling.
- Relevant certifications or licenses.
