Job Description
Are you looking for an easy outdoor walking route job that makes a tangible difference in your community? Georgia Power is hiring a Telephone Pole Poster Tearer to help maintain the aesthetic appeal and safety of utility poles across Savannah. This entry-level, full-time position involves following designated routes to identify and remove unauthorized posters, flyers, and other materials attached to our poles. You’ll enjoy independent work, fresh air, and contribute directly to a cleaner, more organized urban environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Systematically identify and remove all unauthorized posters, flyers, and other materials from utility poles within assigned routes.
- Adhere to daily walking routes and schedules efficiently and independently.
- Report any observed damage to utility poles, wires, or other infrastructure to the appropriate department.
- Ensure proper and environmentally sound disposal of all removed materials.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance while representing Georgia Power in the community.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures established by Georgia Power.
Required Skills
- Ability to walk for extended periods, typically several hours a day, in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure thorough removal of all unauthorized postings.
- Ability to work effectively and responsibly without direct supervision.
- Basic communication skills for internal reporting.
- Possession of reliable transportation to and from the assigned starting location in Savannah.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Previous experience in roles requiring outdoor activity or manual labor is a plus.
- Familiarity with the general layout and streets of Savannah, GA.
