Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Support Engineer (Tier 3) to join our dynamic team in Vancouver. This role is crucial for providing advanced technical assistance and resolution for complex customer issues related to Microsoft products and services. As a Tier 3 engineer, you will be the escalation point for critical problems, working closely with engineering teams to identify root causes, develop solutions, and prevent future occurrences. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as an escalation point for complex technical issues, providing expert-level troubleshooting and resolution.
- Collaborate with product engineering teams to resolve bugs, implement fixes, and provide feedback for product improvement.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and best practices.
- Provide training and mentorship to Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams.
- Participate in on-call rotation to ensure 24/7 critical issue support.
- Analyze system performance and logs to proactively identify potential problems and implement preventative measures.
- Communicate effectively with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams regarding issue status and resolution.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical support role, with at least 2 years at a Tier 3 level.
- Strong proficiency in troubleshooting complex software, hardware, and network issues.
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Azure services, or Office 365.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) or other relevant industry certifications.
- Experience with ITIL frameworks.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Prior experience working with global customer bases.
