Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Student Travel Intern to join our team in Port Lincoln. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the tourism industry, specifically focusing on a key project aimed at enhancing visitor engagement and promoting new travel experiences within the Eyre Peninsula. You will contribute to various aspects of project development, research, and marketing under the guidance of experienced professionals. This is an ideal role for a student passionate about travel, local culture, and sustainable tourism practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with research and data collection for ongoing tourism development projects.
  • Contribute to the creation of marketing materials, including digital content and promotional flyers.
  • Support the organization and execution of local tourism events and initiatives.
  • Help identify and document new visitor attractions or experiences within the Eyre Peninsula.
  • Provide administrative support to the tourism project team.
  • Engage with local tourism operators to gather insights and foster partnerships.
  • Assist with social media content generation and scheduling related to tourism campaigns.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for project improvement.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant tertiary program (e.g., Tourism, Hospitality, Marketing, Business).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (volunteer or paid) in customer service or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the Eyre Peninsula region and its tourism offerings.
  • Basic understanding of digital marketing principles.
  • Access to reliable transport to travel within the region for project-related activities.
