Job Description

Pemberton Public Works Department is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our City Maintenance team as a Street Lamp Post Sticker Remover. This entry-level position is crucial for maintaining the aesthetic appeal and cleanliness of our public infrastructure. You will be responsible for systematically identifying and removing unauthorized stickers, flyers, and graffiti from street lamp posts and other public surfaces throughout the Village of Pemberton. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in municipal services and contribute positively to their community. This role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to public service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Systematically patrol assigned routes to identify street lamp posts, utility boxes, and other public surfaces with unauthorized stickers, flyers, or graffiti.
  • Safely and effectively remove all types of adhesive materials and minor graffiti using appropriate tools and cleaning agents.
  • Properly dispose of removed materials and ensure the work area is left clean.
  • Report any larger incidents of vandalism or damage to supervisors.
  • Operate and maintain basic hand tools and cleaning equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and departmental guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work and areas covered.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License with a clean driving record (for potential future driving duties).
