Job Description
Join the Target team as a Stock Picker in our bustling retail warehouse in Santa Cruz, CA. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are reliable, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. No prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive training to ensure your success. This role focuses on efficient merchandise movement and organization, ensuring our stores are always stocked and ready for our guests. Please note: This role does not involve customer phone calls; it is entirely focused on physical warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently pick merchandise from designated storage locations according to order specifications.
- Accurately scan, sort, and stage items for shipment to various Target retail stores.
- Operate various types of warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks and order pickers, after receiving thorough training and certification.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety protocols and guidelines.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts, quality control checks, and other warehouse tasks as needed.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily productivity and accuracy goals.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and safely.
- Capable of standing, walking, bending, and performing other physical tasks for extended periods throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all tasks.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality with an excellent attendance record.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a diverse team in a busy warehouse setting.
- Basic communication skills to understand instructions and interact with colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, retail, or similar physically demanding environment (not required, but a plus).
- Familiarity with operating material handling equipment.
