Job Description
Are you looking for a hands-on role where you can learn valuable skills and contribute to a vital industry? Cleanaway is seeking a motivated Skip Bin Repair Assistant to join our team in Toowoomba. No prior experience is required, as full training will be provided on the safe and effective use of power tools and repair techniques. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are practical, eager to learn, and enjoy working with their hands in an industrial setting. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our skip bins are in excellent condition, ready for service.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the repair and maintenance of various sizes of skip bins
- Safely operate power tools (e.g., grinders, welders, drills) under supervision and after training
- Prepare surfaces for welding and painting
- Replace worn or damaged components on skip bins
- Perform quality checks on repaired bins to ensure structural integrity
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
Required Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and safely
- Good physical fitness and ability to lift and move heavy objects
- Basic understanding of workshop safety principles
- Punctual and reliable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift license (or willingness to obtain one)
- Basic welding knowledge (even hobbyist experience)
- Previous experience in a trade assistant or industrial setting (not essential as training is given)
