Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and efficient Short Order Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team for part-time weekend shifts. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a range of breakfast, brunch, and lunch items to order, following established recipes and portion control guidelines.
- Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest quality standards and in a timely manner during peak weekend hours.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment, adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and portioning ingredients.
- Monitor inventory levels for essential ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
- Collaborate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth order flow and customer satisfaction.
- Handle kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, ensuring proper care and maintenance.
- Adapt quickly to changing demands and priorities in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a fast-paced kitchen or cafe environment.
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with standard kitchen equipment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple orders simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices (HACCP principles).
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to weekend shifts.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Current Food Handling Certificate (Level 1 or equivalent).
- Experience with a variety of cooking techniques for breakfast and lunch dishes.
