Job Description

We are seeking skilled and dedicated Sheet Metal Workers to join our manufacturing team in Tacoma, WA. As a Sheet Metal Worker, you will be responsible for cutting, shaping, and forming metal components according to specifications, playing a crucial role in the production of high-quality aircraft parts and structures. Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering drawings to determine layout, sequence of operations, and types of materials required.
  • Measure, mark, and cut sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and metalworking machinery such as shears, brakes, presses, and forming rolls.
  • Form and shape sheet metal using various techniques including bending, flaring, dimpling, and riveting.
  • Assemble metal components and structures using fasteners, welding, soldering, or bonding techniques.
  • Inspect finished products for conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies, maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and troubleshoot issues.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Demonstrated ability to use a variety of hand and power tools common to sheet metal work.
  • Strong understanding of different types of metals and their properties (e.g., aluminum, steel, titanium).
  • Excellent mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and practices.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
  • Basic communication skills to effectively work within a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized sheet metal apprenticeship program or vocational training.
  • Prior experience in the aerospace or aviation manufacturing industry.
  • Certifications in specific metalworking techniques (e.g., welding, riveting).
  • Experience with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment or other automated machinery.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
