Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced School Business Manager with a strong focus on financial oversight to join Northwood Academy Belconnen. This pivotal role is responsible for the strategic financial management, operational efficiency, and administrative leadership of the school. The successful candidate will ensure robust financial control, compliance, and effective resource management to support the school’s educational objectives and long-term sustainability. This is an on-site position based at our Belconnen campus, integral to our daily operations and community.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Develop and implement robust financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance and best practice.
- Manage the school's assets, procurement, and contract negotiations to achieve optimal value.
- Provide strategic financial advice to the Principal and Board of Directors.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, audit requirements, and educational standards.
- Lead and manage the administrative and support staff teams.
- Manage facilities, property, and health and safety compliance.
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports to senior leadership and the Board.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in financial management and budgetary control.
- Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance frameworks.

- Proficiency in financial software and accounting systems.

- Experience with school management information systems (SMIS).
