Job Description
As the Risk Management Director, Sponsorship Supported, you will play a critical leadership role in safeguarding T-Mobile’s assets, reputation, and strategic objectives. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing comprehensive enterprise risk management frameworks, policies, and procedures across various business units. This role requires a strategic leader with a deep understanding of risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and monitoring, particularly within the dynamic telecommunications and technology landscape. Your expertise will be crucial in guiding our organization through complex regulatory environments and emerging threats, ensuring business continuity and sustainable growth. The successful candidate will be a visionary who can anticipate challenges and build robust solutions, while also navigating the complexities of employment sponsorship.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an enterprise-wide risk management strategy, aligning with corporate objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the identification, assessment, quantification, and mitigation of operational, financial, strategic, technological, and compliance risks.
- Establish and maintain risk governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent and effective risk management practices.
- Provide strategic guidance and insights to senior leadership and business units on emerging risks and their potential impact.
- Oversee the development and delivery of risk training programs to foster a risk-aware culture across the organization.
- Collaborate with internal audit, legal, compliance, and other departments to ensure integrated risk management approaches.
- Monitor and report on key risk indicators, risk appetite, and risk mitigation progress to executive management and the Board.
- Manage and mentor a team of risk professionals, fostering their growth and ensuring high performance.
- Ensure all risk management activities adhere to applicable laws and regulations, with a strong understanding of international implications for sponsorship.
Required Skills
- Proven leadership experience in enterprise risk management, preferably within a large, complex organization.
- Expertise in developing and implementing comprehensive risk management frameworks, methodologies, and tools.
- Deep understanding of regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and industry best practices in risk management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities with a data-driven approach.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
- Proficiency in risk assessment software and data analytics tools.
- Ability to navigate and manage employment sponsorship processes and requirements effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications such as FRM (Financial Risk Manager), CRM (Certified Risk Manager), or PMI-RMP (Project Management Institute – Risk Management Professional).
- Experience in the telecommunications or technology industry.
- Experience working in a global or multinational corporate environment.
