Job Description

Extendicare is seeking enthusiastic Residential Care Workers for our night shift team in Sherwood Park. This is an incredible opportunity for individuals with little to no prior experience in care, as full, comprehensive training will be provided to ensure you have all the skills and confidence needed to excel in this rewarding role. You will be an integral part of our team, providing essential support and care to our residents during the overnight hours, ensuring their comfort, safety, and dignity. Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centered care and support to residents during the night shift, adhering to individual care plans.
- Assist residents with personal care routines as needed, including toileting, repositioning, and comfort care.
- Monitor residents' well-being throughout the night, observing and reporting any changes in condition or behavior to the nursing staff.
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment for residents.
- Document care activities, observations, and resident interactions accurately and thoroughly.
- Respond to resident call bells promptly and courteously.
- Ensure the safety and security of the residents and the facility during the night.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Adhere to all Extendicare policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Previous volunteer experience in a healthcare or residential setting.
- An understanding of the needs of seniors and individuals with varying health conditions.
