Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Records Manager – Corporate Information to join our team in Bathurst. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the comprehensive management of corporate information assets, ensuring their integrity, accessibility, and compliance with all relevant legislative and internal governance standards. You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing records management policies and procedures, overseeing record systems, and providing expert guidance to staff. This position is vital for maintaining the accuracy and security of our valuable corporate information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and review records management policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with legislative requirements and best practice.
  • Manage the classification, storage, retrieval, retention, and disposition of corporate records, both physical and electronic.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, including the NSW State Records Act and other regulatory frameworks governing information management.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of the Electronic Document Management System (EDMS) and other records systems.
  • Provide expert advice and training to staff on records management principles, policies, and system usage.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of records management practices to ensure accuracy, completeness, and security.
  • Manage records transfer projects and facilitate access to corporate information for internal and external stakeholders as required.
  • Collaborate with IT, Legal, and Compliance departments to integrate records management requirements into business processes and systems.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and legislative changes pertaining to records and information management.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a dedicated records management or information governance role.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Australian and NSW specific records management legislation and standards.
  • Proficiency with Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS) and records management software.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver training programs on records management.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in Information Management, Archival Studies, Library Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional certification in records and information management (e.g., RIMPA).
  • Experience with large-scale records migration or system implementation projects.
  • Understanding of data privacy principles and regulations.
