Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality Assurance (QA/QC) Engineer to join our growing team in Marystown, Newfoundland and Labrador. This role is open to talented individuals requiring sponsorship, as we are committed to supporting eligible candidates through the immigration process. As a QA/QC Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of our software products and systems. You will be involved in the entire software development lifecycle, from requirements analysis to deployment, focusing on creating and executing comprehensive test plans to identify and resolve defects.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, document, and execute detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on functional and non-functional requirements.
- Perform various types of testing, including functional, regression, integration, system, and performance testing.
- Identify, document, prioritize, and track bugs and defects using appropriate bug tracking tools.
- Collaborate closely with development teams, product managers, and business analysts to understand project requirements and ensure quality throughout the SDLC.
- Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and daily stand-ups to provide input on testability and quality concerns.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Provide clear and concise status updates on testing progress and defect resolution.
- Maintain comprehensive testing documentation and ensure adherence to quality standards.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control within a software development environment.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience with test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress).
- Proficiency in writing SQL queries for database testing.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced agile environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- ISTQB certification or equivalent.
- Experience with performance and security testing tools.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development methodology.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript) for test automation.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
