Job Description

We are seeking a enthusiastic and creative Prop Making & 3D Printing Intern to join our Production team. This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about theater, design, and fabrication who are eager to learn and contribute to the creation of captivating stage environments. You will work closely with our experienced Prop Master and designers, gaining hands-on experience in various prop construction techniques, including traditional craftsmanship and cutting-edge 3D printing technologies. Full training will be provided, making this an ideal role for someone with a strong desire to learn and grow in a dynamic theatrical setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Prop Master in the research, design, and construction of props for upcoming theatrical productions.
  • Operate and maintain 3D printers, including preparing models, troubleshooting issues, and post-processing prints.
  • Learn and apply various fabrication techniques using a range of materials such as wood, plastics, foams, and textiles.
  • Assist with prop inventory management, organization, and maintenance.
  • Conduct research for historically accurate or stylistically appropriate props.
  • Help with set dressing and strike duties as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.

  • Strong interest in theater, design, or fabrication.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills and adapt to various challenges.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.

  • Enrolled in or recently graduated from a relevant program (e.g., Theater Technology, Industrial Design, Fine Arts).
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools and power tools.
  • Experience or interest in 3D modeling software (e.g., Blender, Tinkercad, Fusion 360).
  • Any prior experience with arts and crafts, model making, or basic carpentry.
