Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Project Lead for Sustainable Development to join our dynamic team in Port Adelaide. This critical role will be instrumental in driving and delivering a diverse portfolio of sustainable development projects across various sectors, focusing on environmental impact reduction, resource efficiency, and community resilience. The successful candidate will lead project teams, engage with stakeholders, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closure of sustainable development projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and GHD's strategic goals.
- Manage project scope, budget, schedule, and resources effectively, utilizing strong project management methodologies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear communication.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, developing proactive solutions to challenges.
- Mentor and guide project team members, promoting a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
- Prepare comprehensive project reports, presentations, and proposals.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Contribute to business development activities, including proposal writing and client engagement.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in project management within sustainable development, environmental consulting, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams.
- Strong understanding of sustainability principles, environmental management systems, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainable Development, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Experience with stakeholder engagement and community consultation processes.
- Knowledge of Australian environmental legislation and policies, particularly within South Australia.
