Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Lead to join our Community Services team in Greenway, ACT. This role is crucial for the successful planning, execution, and closure of various community-focused projects aimed at supporting vulnerable individuals and families. The Project Lead will manage project lifecycles, coordinate resources, and work closely with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met with high impact and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of community service projects.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate and manage project resources, including staff, volunteers, and external partners.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with funding agreements, organisational policies, and relevant legislation.
  • Prepare and present regular project reports to stakeholders and management.
  • Foster strong relationships with community members, local government, and service providers.
  • Advocate for the needs of disadvantaged individuals and communities through project outcomes.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in project management within the community services or not-for-profit sector.
  • Strong understanding of community development principles and practices.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Valid Australian driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Community Development, Social Work, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Experience working with diverse community groups, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
  • Knowledge of local community services landscape in the ACT.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification.
