Job Description

AgriTech Solutions Canada is seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Director to lead our procurement function. This pivotal role involves overseeing all purchasing activities, developing long-term sourcing strategies, and ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services critical to our operations. The successful candidate will drive cost savings, improve supplier performance, and manage risk within the supply chain, while building a high-performing procurement team. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies aligned with company objectives.
  • Lead negotiations with key suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and quality standards.
  • Manage and optimize the entire procurement lifecycle, from sourcing to contract management and supplier relations.
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, ensuring continuity of supply and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing procurement team.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, operations, finance, and legal departments.
  • Drive initiatives for cost reduction, process improvement, and digital transformation within procurement.
  • Monitor market trends, evaluate new technologies, and assess potential suppliers.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain management, or strategic sourcing.
  • Proven leadership experience managing procurement teams and large-scale projects.
  • Expert knowledge of procurement best practices, contract law, and negotiation techniques.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and e-procurement platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic sourcing plans.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • Professional certification (e.g., SCMP, CPSM, CIPS).
  • Experience in the agricultural technology, manufacturing, or heavy machinery sectors.
  • Proven track record of managing international supply chains.
  • Familiarity with Canadian and international trade regulations.
