Job Description
Join our network of dedicated independent Process Servers! This role involves the crucial task of delivering legal documents, such as summons, subpoenas, and complaints, to individuals and businesses in accordance with legal requirements. As an independent contractor, you will manage your own schedule and routes, ensuring that legal papers are served efficiently and accurately within the Tallahassee area. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding legal standards. While independent, you will be part of a supportive network dedicated to facilitating justice.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and review legal documents for service.
- Plan and execute daily routes for timely and effective service attempts.
- Accurately identify individuals and entities to be served.
- Effectively communicate with recipients while maintaining professionalism and adherence to legal protocols.
- Complete and file Affidavits of Service with detailed information regarding each serve.
- Maintain detailed records of all service attempts, successful serves, and mileage.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws regarding process serving.
- Manage your schedule and workload to meet strict deadlines.
- Communicate regularly with Nationwide Legal Support on assignment status.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Proof of automobile insurance.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to navigate effectively using maps or GPS.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a fluctuating workload.
- Basic computer proficiency for record-keeping and communication.
- High level of discretion and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a process server or in a related field (e.g., delivery, investigations, field service).
- Familiarity with local court rules and civil procedure.
- Florida Process Server certification (if applicable to county).
- Notary Public commission.
- Experience with legal document management software.
