Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Printing Press Operator to join our dynamic team in Mississauga. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to advance their career in the printing industry. As a Printing Press Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials. Full training on specific equipment and processes will be provided to ensure your success.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate offset, digital, or flexographic printing presses according to job specifications.
- Monitor print quality during production runs, making adjustments as necessary to maintain standards.
- Load paper, ink, and other materials into the press.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the press equipment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve minor mechanical issues.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures.
- Maintain accurate production records and complete necessary paperwork.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production deadlines.
Required Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify color variations and print defects.
- Basic understanding of printing principles (or willingness to learn rapidly).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), and perform repetitive tasks.
- Commitment to workplace safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience operating printing presses (offset, digital, flexographic).
- Technical diploma or certification in printing technology or a related field.
- Experience with quality control processes in a manufacturing setting.
- Forklift certification (an asset).
