Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our research team in the Faculty of Engineering. The successful candidate will contribute to a pioneering project focused on advanced materials for sustainable energy applications. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to conduct independent research, publish in top-tier journals, and collaborate with leading experts in a state-of-the-art laboratory environment. The role involves designing and synthesizing novel materials, characterizing their properties, and exploring their performance in energy conversion and storage systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute experimental research plans in advanced materials science.
- Synthesize and characterize novel materials using various analytical techniques (e.g., spectroscopy, microscopy, diffraction).
- Analyze and interpret experimental data, maintaining detailed laboratory records.
- Prepare research findings for publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
- Present research at national and international conferences.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary research teams and mentor junior researchers.
- Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and project reports.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related field (obtained within the last 5 years).
- Demonstrated strong record of scientific publications in relevant areas.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques for materials synthesis and characterization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electrochemical characterization techniques (e.g., cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy).
- Familiarity with computational tools for materials design or data analysis (e.g., DFT, MATLAB, Python).
- Prior experience in supervising students or junior researchers.
- Working knowledge of French is an asset.
