Job Description
Join CBI Health in Saskatoon as a dedicated Physical Therapy Aide! This entry-level position is perfect for individuals eager to start a career in healthcare and support a dynamic rehabilitation team. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and safe clinic environment, preparing treatment areas, and providing essential assistance to our registered Physical Therapists and patients. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, excellent interpersonal skills, and a genuine desire to help others. Full training will be provided to ensure your success in this vital supporting role.
Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize all physical therapy equipment and treatment areas before and after each patient use, ensuring a hygienic environment.
- Prepare treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment for scheduled therapy sessions.
- Assist patients with safe entry and exit from treatment areas, as well as with basic mobility exercises under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist.
- Manage linen supplies, including stocking clean linens and preparing soiled linens for laundry.
- Assist with clerical duties such as organizing patient files, answering phones, and scheduling appointments as needed.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of clinic supplies, informing staff when items need reordering.
- Ensure the overall cleanliness and organization of the clinic space.
- Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and empathetic demeanor.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift moderate weights throughout the day.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness and organization.
- A genuine interest in healthcare and helping others.
- Willingness to learn and commit to on-the-job training.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a customer service role or a healthcare setting is an asset but not required.
- Familiarity with basic medical terminology.
