Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Intensive Care Nurse (PICU) to join our dedicated team in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is a full-time, visa-sponsored position designed for experienced international nurses looking to advance their careers in a leading healthcare system. The successful candidate will provide specialized nursing care to critically ill infants, children, and adolescents, utilizing advanced clinical skills and a patient-centered approach. You will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care, supporting both patients and their families during challenging times. Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for critically ill pediatric patients.
- Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and manage ventilators, IV lines, and other critical care equipment.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and execute patient care plans.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families, ensuring clear communication and involving them in care decisions.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records.
- Respond effectively to medical emergencies and rapidly changing patient conditions.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training specific to pediatric critical care.
Required Skills
- Current RN license in your country of origin or eligibility for Oklahoma RN licensure.
- Minimum of 2 years (24 months) of recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) or a high-acuity pediatric setting.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Certification in Pediatric Critical Care Nursing (e.g., CCRN-Pediatric).
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems, preferably Epic.
- Proficiency in a second language.
