Job Description
Are you ready to embrace the true Australian outback lifestyle? Consolidated Pastoral Company is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Mustering Offsiders to join our station teams. This is a unique opportunity to gain invaluable hands-on experience in cattle mustering and station operations in remote, picturesque locations. We are looking for individuals who are physically fit, possess a strong work ethic, and are eager to learn and contribute to a close-knit team. Meals and accommodation are provided on-site, allowing you to immerse yourself fully in station life while developing critical skills in the agricultural industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the mustering, drafting, and general handling of cattle using various methods (horseback, motorbike, quad bike)
- Participate in yard work, including branding, tagging, and vaccination procedures
- Undertake general station duties such as fencing, water point maintenance, and equipment care
- Operate and maintain station vehicles, machinery, and equipment safely and efficiently
- Adhere strictly to all animal welfare and safety protocols
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, communicating effectively with station management and colleagues
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Strong work ethic and a proactive attitude
- Ability to adapt to and thrive in remote living and working environments
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- A genuine interest in livestock and agricultural operations
- Current valid Australian driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with horses, motorbikes, or quad bikes
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor equipment maintenance
- Current First Aid certificate
- Experience in rural or outdoor work settings
