Job Description

Guitar Center in Detroit is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Musical Instrument Sales Advisor to join our dynamic team. In this commission-based role, you will leverage your expertise to provide outstanding customer service, guide customers through our extensive product range, and drive sales. Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers on the sales floor, identifying their musical needs and preferences.
- Demonstrate and explain the features and benefits of guitars, keyboards, and related accessories.
- Provide expert advice and product recommendations based on customer skill level, budget, and musical style.
- Achieve and exceed individual sales targets and contribution goals.
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of current products, promotions, and industry trends.
- Assist with merchandising, maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, and ensuring products are properly displayed.
- Process sales transactions accurately and efficiently using our POS system.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships, fostering loyalty and repeat business.
- Participate in ongoing product training and development programs.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in playing guitar and/or keyboards is mandatory.
- Strong passion for music and musical instruments.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Customer-centric mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional service.
- Basic computer proficiency for point-of-sale and inventory management.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year of experience in retail sales or customer service, preferably in music retail.
- In-depth knowledge of various musical genres, brands, and instrument specifications.
- Familiarity with recording equipment, pro audio, or other music technology.
- Experience with CRM software and sales tracking.
