Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Midwife to join our growing Women’s Health team. The successful candidate will provide full scope midwifery care to women during pregnancy, labor, birth, and the postpartum period, as well as gynecological and primary care services. You will work within a collaborative, interdisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum care to women.
- Conduct physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications as appropriate within scope of practice.
- Manage labor and delivery, including spontaneous vaginal births and immediate postpartum care.
- Offer family planning services, well-woman gynecological care, and health education.
- Collaborate effectively with obstetricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and timely patient records.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing professional development.
Required Skills
- Active Registered Midwife (RM) licensure or eligibility for licensure in Virginia.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Midwifery from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a practicing Midwife.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Experience in a similar hospital or birth center setting.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Experience with diverse patient populations.
