Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Medical Records Assistant to join our clinical environment in Brisbane. This is an outstanding entry-level opportunity for individuals passionate about contributing to healthcare, even without prior experience. Full training will be provided to ensure you gain the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in this vital role. You will be responsible for the accurate and efficient management of patient medical records, playing a crucial part in supporting our clinical teams and ensuring seamless patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Organise, maintain, and retrieve patient medical records with accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure all patient information is entered into the electronic health record system correctly and promptly.
- Scan, file, and index medical documents and correspondence.
- Respond to requests for patient information from authorised personnel while maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Assist with audits of medical records to ensure compliance with privacy regulations and hospital policies.
- Provide administrative support to the medical records department as needed.
- Adhere to all Mater Health policies and procedures, including those related to patient confidentiality and data security.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
