Job Description
Northwestern Medicine is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Doctor / General Practitioner to join our esteemed team. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and seniors.
- Perform physical examinations, interpret diagnostic tests, and formulate treatment plans.
- Manage acute and chronic illnesses, focusing on disease prevention and health promotion.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
- Refer patients to specialists as appropriate and collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR).
- Educate patients and their families on health management, lifestyle choices, and disease prevention.
- Participate in continuing medical education and professional development activities.
- Adhere to all medical ethics, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a residency program in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Current medical license in good standing (or eligibility for licensure in Illinois, with support provided for international candidates).
- Excellent diagnostic and clinical judgment skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
- Experience working in a large academic medical center or integrated healthcare system.
- Fluency in additional languages relevant to the diverse patient population in Chicago.
