Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and vigilant individuals to join our team as Local Council Ward Security Patrol Officers in Portadown. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to start a career in security, as full training will be provided, and a uniform will be supplied. You will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment within designated council wards, conducting patrols, responding to incidents, and ensuring the well-being of residents and council property. Your presence will deter criminal activity and provide reassurance to the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols within designated local council wards.
- Monitor premises and areas for suspicious activity, unauthorized access, or safety hazards.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, disturbances, and security incidents.
- Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs.
- Liaise with local authorities, emergency services, and council officials when necessary.
- Provide a visible deterrent to crime and antisocial behaviour.
- Report and escalate any observed maintenance issues or hazards to relevant council departments.
- Ensure compliance with all security procedures and health and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy for report writing.
- A valid driver's license is preferred but not always essential depending on ward assignments.
- Willingness to undergo and pass a background check and security screening.
- Commitment to maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or public-facing role.
- Familiarity with the Portadown area.
- First Aid qualification (training can be provided).
