Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and community-focused Administrative Officer to join our Community Services team. This role is crucial in supporting the day-to-day operations of various community programs and initiatives. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support, coordinating activities, managing records, and acting as a key point of contact for community members. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong organizational skills and a passion for serving the local community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the Community Services team, including scheduling, correspondence, and document management.
- Act as the first point of contact for community enquiries, both in person and over the phone, directing them to the appropriate services.
- Assist with the coordination and promotion of community events, workshops, and programs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records, databases, and filing systems.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and other documentation as required.
- Process invoices, purchase orders, and other financial administration tasks.
- Support the development and implementation of community engagement strategies.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external community organizations.
- Manage bookings for community facilities and resources.
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
Required Skills
- Proven administrative experience, preferably within a community services or government setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of confidentiality and privacy principles.
Preferred Qualifications
- A Certificate III or IV in Business Administration, Community Services, or a related field.
- Experience with local government administrative procedures and systems.
- Knowledge of the Port Lincoln community and local services.
- Current South Australian Driver's License.
