Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Junior Nursing Assistants (Students) to join our dedicated care team. This is an excellent opportunity for current nursing students to gain invaluable hands-on experience in a dynamic hospital setting. Under the direct supervision of Registered Nurses, you will provide essential support in delivering patient-focused care, assisting with daily living activities, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and contributing to the overall positive patient experience. This role is designed to complement your studies, providing practical application of your learning with a strong emphasis on compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Support patients with feeding, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met.
- Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized patient environment.
- Assist with patient transfers and ambulation, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, fostering a comforting atmosphere.
- Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Required Skills
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Nursing program (Diploma or Bachelor's Degree)
- Demonstrated empathy and compassion for patients
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer literacy
Preferred Qualifications
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Previous experience in a volunteer or paid caregiving role
- Understanding of basic medical terminology
