Job Description
This is a critical leadership role responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Telstra’s IT infrastructure within our Port Adelaide operations. You will lead a team of infrastructure specialists, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of our systems. This role demands a proactive individual with a deep understanding of modern IT infrastructure principles and a passion for driving technological excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure projects.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring system uptime, performance, and security.
- Manage a team of IT infrastructure specialists, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Develop and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with other IT departments and business units to align infrastructure solutions with business objectives.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions to enhance efficiency and reliability.
- Manage vendor relationships and procurement of infrastructure-related hardware and software.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal security standards.
- Provide expert-level troubleshooting and problem resolution for complex infrastructure issues.
Required Skills
- Extensive experience with network infrastructure (TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, firewalls, routers, switches).
- Proven expertise in server administration (Windows Server, Linux).
- Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Proficiency in storage solutions (SAN, NAS).
- Understanding of IT security principles and best practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE, VCP, ITIL).
- Experience with IT service management frameworks (ITIL).
- Project management experience.
