Job Description
As an Irrigation Worker Trainee, you will embark on an exciting journey to learn the fundamentals of irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repair. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals eager to start a career in outdoor services, offering comprehensive on-the-job training. You will work alongside experienced technicians, gaining hands-on experience with various irrigation components, tools, and techniques. No prior experience is required – just a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a desire to learn!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians with the installation, repair, and ongoing maintenance of irrigation systems.
- Learn to identify and troubleshoot common irrigation issues, including leaks, clogs, and broken sprinkler heads.
- Support tasks such as digging trenches, laying pipe, and connecting system components according to specifications.
- Perform routine checks and adjustments to ensure all irrigation systems are operating efficiently.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, including proper care for company tools and vehicles.
- Strictly adhere to all company safety protocols and operational policies.
- Commit to continuous learning and professional development within the irrigation field.
Required Skills
- A strong desire to learn and grow within the landscaping and irrigation industry.

- Physical stamina and capability to perform manual labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation to and from the assigned job sites in the Albany area.
- Commitment to excellent attendance and punctuality.
- While not required, a basic familiarity with hand tools is considered a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Possession of a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one.
- Any prior experience in outdoor labor, general construction, or landscaping is beneficial but not a prerequisite for this trainee role.
