Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical Inventory Planning Manager to join our dynamic supply chain team in Truro. This critical role involves developing and implementing inventory strategies to ensure optimal stock levels, minimize waste, and support our extensive retail operations. The ideal candidate will be adept at forecasting demand, managing supplier relationships, and utilizing advanced planning systems to drive efficiency. This position offers visa sponsorship for eligible candidates who demonstrate a strong background in inventory management and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor inventory planning strategies to meet service levels and reduce costs.
- Utilize advanced forecasting techniques to predict demand fluctuations and optimize stock replenishment.
- Manage inventory levels across multiple product categories, ensuring product availability while minimizing excess and obsolescence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, logistics, and sales teams to align inventory plans with business objectives.
- Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as stock turn, fill rate, and forecast accuracy, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and implement preventative measures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in inventory management processes and systems.
- Negotiate with suppliers on lead times and delivery schedules to ensure timely stock arrivals.
- Prepare and present regular reports on inventory performance and strategic recommendations to senior management.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in inventory management, supply chain planning, or a similar role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL).
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of collaborating with various stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute effective inventory strategies.
- Eligibility for UK visa sponsorship and willingness to relocate to Truro, Cornwall.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., APICS CSCP, CPIM).
- Experience with SAP or Oracle supply chain modules.
- Prior experience in the retail or fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.
- Leadership or supervisory experience in a supply chain environment.
