Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and organised Inventory Control Clerk to join our team in Mackay. This is an integral role focused on maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring stock levels are precise, and supporting efficient warehouse or store operations. The position requires a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. This role is primarily focused on system and physical inventory management and does not involve phone-based customer or supplier communication. Due to the nature of retail and supply chain, this is a shift work position, requiring availability across various hours, including evenings and weekends. Full training will be provided to ensure success in the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Update inventory records in the management system accurately and promptly.
- Investigate and resolve stock variances, damaged goods, and misplaced items.
- Generate inventory reports and provide data analysis to support operational decisions.
- Assist with stock transfers, receiving, and dispatch processes.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe inventory storage area.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with warehouse and store teams to ensure smooth stock flow.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer proficiency, including data entry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality for shift work schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in an inventory, warehouse, or retail environment (beneficial, but not essential).
- Familiarity with inventory management software systems.
- Forklift license or willingness to obtain one.
