Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Ice Sculpting Assistant to join our creative events team. This unique role involves working closely with our lead ice sculptor to prepare, shape, and install intricate ice creations for various events at the Hyatt Regency Medellín. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in cold environments, possess a strong work ethic, and have an aptitude for hands-on, detail-oriented tasks. While prior ice sculpting experience is not required, a willingness to learn, a good eye for aesthetics, and the physical capability for creative heavy lifting are essential. Full training will be provided to the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead ice sculptor in the preparation and handling of ice blocks.
- Support the carving process by preparing tools, clearing ice shavings, and maintaining a clean work area.
- Aid in the safe transport, assembly, and installation of ice sculptures at event venues within the hotel.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of ice sculpting equipment and tools.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed while working with tools and in cold conditions.
- Collaborate with the events team to understand artistic requirements and logistical needs for each project.

- Ability to work effectively in a cold environment for extended periods.
- Physical strength and stamina for lifting, carrying, and maneuvering heavy ice blocks and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to tasks.
