Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Hotel Maintenance Helper to join our team in Taree. This entry-level position is perfect for someone looking to start a career in hotel maintenance, offering extensive on-the-job tool training and the opportunity to learn a wide range of maintenance tasks. You will assist our experienced maintenance staff with daily upkeep, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities across our property. This role requires a willingness to learn, a proactive attitude, and a commitment to ensuring our hotel remains in excellent condition for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior maintenance staff with general repairs and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Learn to use various tools and equipment safely and effectively through direct training.
- Perform routine checks on hotel facilities and equipment.
- Handle minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs under supervision.
- Assist with painting, patching, and general upkeep of guest rooms and common areas.
- Respond promptly and courteously to maintenance requests from staff and guests.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance workshops and storage areas.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Report any major repair needs or safety hazards to the Maintenance Manager.
Required Skills
- Willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.
- Basic understanding of general hand tools (training provided).
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Good physical stamina and ability to lift moderately heavy objects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hands-on role or a manual trade (not essential, but a plus).
- A valid driver's license.
- First Aid certification.
