Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented individuals to join our Environmental Services team as a Hospital Cleaner. In this full-time role, you will be crucial in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will be responsible for cleaning and disinfecting patient rooms, common areas, offices, and other assigned spaces within our facility. This position requires adherence to strict health and safety protocols, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing a sterile and comfortable healing environment. Key Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, restrooms, offices, and public areas according to established procedures and schedules.
- Perform daily floor care including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and buffing.
- Empty and transport waste, soiled linens, and medical waste following proper safety protocols.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and infection control standards.
- Respond promptly and courteously to requests from patients, visitors, and staff.
- Report any maintenance needs, safety hazards, or damaged equipment to supervision.
- Maintain a professional and friendly demeanor while interacting with patients and colleagues.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in cleaning tasks.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, lift, and push/pull cleaning equipment and supplies for extended periods.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to infection control protocols.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Basic communication skills to interact effectively with team members.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and equipment.
