Job Description

Trident Health System is excited to offer an incredible opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to join our team as a Healthcare Assistant (HCA). No prior experience is required – we believe in nurturing talent and providing comprehensive, paid training to ensure you succeed. This is an immediate start position designed for motivated candidates ready to make a real difference in patients’ lives from day one. As an HCA, you will work directly with patients and clinical staff, providing essential support and contributing to a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Help patients with mobility, including transferring, ambulating, and positioning.
- Monitor and record vital signs, intake, and output, reporting any changes to the nursing staff.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Assist nurses with various patient care tasks as delegated and trained.
- Ensure patient comfort and respond to call lights promptly.
- Document care provided accurately and timely in patient records.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong desire to learn and grow in the healthcare field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic computer literacy
- CPR certification (can be obtained during initial training)
